UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene)
UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is an engineering thermoplastic prized for its exceptional abrasion resistance, very low coefficient of friction, high impact strength, and self-lubricating behavior. It outwears steel in many sliding and wear applications, absorbs noise and vibration, and does not absorb moisture, making it ideal for food, packaging, material handling and bulk conveying equipment.
Typical components machined from UHMWPE include wear strips, guide rails, conveyor components, chain guides, sprockets, idler rollers, chute and hopper liners, and custom low-friction parts. Grades such as oil-filled, glass-filled and anti-static UHMWPE are available for self-lubricating, structural and ESD-sensitive applications.
